Entering Your Items

 

After you have completed your registration with The Tidy Closet you are then ready to start entering all your items. The tagging system is very easy to use. No handwritten tags will be accepted. Only bar-coded tags are accepted. Please follow the steps below to help in the process of entering all of your items.

 

  • Enter in the item description ( you have 2 lines to do this.)
  • Make sure to put the brand first if clothing. Also put color and anything else that helps describe that item.
  • Enter in your selling price
  • Choose a category for the item from a drop down box and fill in the blanks, (example. Men's clothing,woman's clothing, household item, books,etc..)
  • Enter in size if clothing or shoes
  • Discount item yes/no (click box to discount)
  • Donate item yes/no(click box to donate)

 

When you are entering all the information in the system you can go back in after you are done and make any changes you need to. For example, if you put the wrong size you can go in and put the correct size. If you already printed out your tags make sure you print a new tag for any items that you made changes to in the system.

 

DISCOUNT

You have the option when entering your items if you want to mark your items at 50% off for the last day of the sale. The tag will say REDUCE above the price and will only be sold at the reduced price on the last day of the sale at a scheduled time. (please see schedule for exact times). Doing this will help you sell your items that you may have left over.

 

DONATE

When entering item information you can also choose to donate your items that did not sell. These items will be donated to local charities. You will be able to print out a tax receipt for all your donated items as long as you have them marked as donate in the system. Please see the Giving Back page to learn more.
